How It Works
PA Gun Trader connects Pennsylvania buyers and sellers. We're not a dealer — we don't sell, ship, or handle firearms. Every deal happens directly between the two people involved, and through a licensed FFL where the law requires it.
Buying
Browse or search
Filter by county, category, caliber, condition, and price. Enter your ZIP to sort by what's closest — we show county and rough distance, never anyone's exact address.
Save a search
Tell us what you're after and get notified when something matching gets listed, so you're not checking back every day.
Message the seller
Contact happens on the site, so neither of you hands out a phone number or email to a stranger. You'll need a free account with your name, ZIP, and county first.
Meet up and transfer
Agree on a price and a place. For most firearm sales in Pennsylvania, the transfer legally has to go through a licensed dealer — use our Dealers map to find one nearby and check their transfer fee before you go.
Selling
Create your listing
Category, make, model, caliber, condition, price, and at least one photo. Up to eight. Your county fills in from your profile so buyers can find you locally.
Say whether you'll trade
Mark your listing open to trades and note what you're interested in. Buyers can filter for trades specifically.
Answer your messages
Inquiries arrive in your inbox on the site and by email. Only your first name shows to buyers — never your last name, address, or phone unless you choose to share it.
Mark it sold and leave a review
Pick the buyer, rate how it went, and they rate you back. Reputation builds over time and helps everyone.
About the FFL transfer
Pennsylvania law requires most handgun and firearm sales to go through a licensed dealer, who runs the background check and keeps the record. There are limited exceptions — including certain transfers between family members and long gun sales — but the dealer handling your transfer is the authority on what applies to your sale. Ask them first.
Our Dealers directory lists over 500 FFLs across 65 of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, with phone numbers, websites, and Google ratings so you can find one near you. Dealers who claim their listing can add transfer fees, hours, and whether they handle NFA items — until then, call ahead to confirm fees before you go.
Staying safe
- Meet at a gun shop or another public place — never at your home
- If a deal looks too good to be true, it is
- Keep conversation on the site; scammers push to move you off it
